Good day all. I am a Jujutsuka from New Zealand, 37 yrs old and have been training since school. Interesting stuff on line and I look forward to keeping up with what is happening when I can. There are some very knowledgable people online here which is one of the reasons I signed up: to pick up new information and share ideas. If you are in our neck of the woods, please look up the club in the directory - you are more than welcome to come and train. New Zealand is great, skiing in winter, BBQ's and beaches in summer, and it is cheap cheap cheap compared to the US dollar. Gan Ba Re

Jujitsu Check in. Budosensei, also known as Rob Campbell. Started Martial Arts 33 years ago, my wife 30. I have studied most major arts for a fair few years before moving on to something else. Jujutsu & Aikido from 1978, then back to TKD & Karate. Opened.my own Dojo 1990 as I couldn't get good training around here. Jujitsu with the usual groups until 1995, when we visited the famous Takenouchi Ryu main Dojo in Japan; blew my mind and changed my outlook. I really changed my training method then, increased my weaponry skills amd softened my Waza. Took Wado with my wife, 7 years to Shodan (she's tough) World Weapons Champ, manager of WKA National squad for 5 years. Head my own Association, everything from Wado, Wu Shu to extreme stuff, but my real love is Koryu Budo. Several visits to japan to satisfy my need. Met Toby Threadgill of Takamura Ha Shindo Yoshin Ryu in Spain, saw real Budo, all change again. It's the root style of Wado, so we get lots of fun in both lessons. TSYR is amazing, predatory and effective, found my path. Check out www.blackpoolmartialarts.com for more info.
Introduction Hi all. My name is Keikai or Greg as I am usually known and I started training Tsutsumi Ryu ju jutsu in 1968 under Jan de Jong Sensei. I remained with him for 35 years until I had completed my 3rd Dan - the last technical grading. Most of us who finished the system took that long or longer to finish - it is a very comprehensive system to learn. I was one of the five people who completed the whole grading system out of the thousdands (literally) who started there in the fifty odd years that he was teaching. de Jong Sensei passed away in 2003 and I have since left the school and started my own school in a small way. I have in the past three years taught seminars in Sweden and Denmark and will be again next year. I have also trained Aikido under de Jong Sensei but not very far in the gradings. I trained Karate a long time ago for a short while and have done a little Pencak Silat also under de Jong Sensei. I look forward to some interesting discussions in the future.
Rob , Jo and Greg welcome to the Jujitsu forum.....about 90 yars of experience landed in those 3 threads ...enjoy the forums Smurf
Hi Greg.. Sensei Bruce Jordan in Adelaide is close to completing his 3rd Dan grading under Sensei Graham Dunna and Sensai Hans De Jong.. He is my current instructor, taking over much of the teaching suring Sensei Grahams illness
Hey, Im Craig. I'm 17 years old and I train in Jiu Jitsu in Port Glasgow, Scotland. My sensi is John Black, 6th dan. Started training over a year ago and Im currently at green belt. Looking to continue Jiu Jitsu but also move onto Muay Thai. Love the club I attend. Great teaching and great people - what more could you ask for =D
Adamwolf, aka Adam in case none of you saw that coming. I have trained in Japanese style Jujitsu for a little over 5 years now as I started training back in 2000. I trained under Renshi Jose Rodriguez (Bushido Ryu San Jutsu) and have had the opportunity to train with Soke Joseph Miller (TaizanRyu Taiho Jitsu), Shihan Vasquz (Ninjitsu) and Soke Harris Warren (Nisei-Bujutsu). Other styles I have studied are Hakkoryu, Aiki Jutsu, Kobu Jutsu, Judo, Yoshitsune, Karate. So I would have to say the Japanese style arts have influenced me the most. I love the arts and one day would like in turn teach others. Well thats my quick bio.

Hi, my name is Drew and I have just begun doing Brazilian Ju Jitsu. Before this martial art I had done Wing Chun. So far the classes have been loads of fun and I am liking this art more than Wing Chun!
Checkin in.... Hello...My name is Leigh but on here I am Aka Ryu. I train in Aka Ryu Ju Jitsu which is affliated to Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu. I have also done some Judo in the past but it wasn't aggressive enough ...
Need I introduce myself here? 2 months away from grading for shodan in shotokan/kamishin ryu karate and I move 100 miles away from the club so now I'm getting into the Huddersfield Uni Jitsu club (TJF). Had my third session there last night and I still need more!
Noob checking in Though I better check in as a new member I started training in goshin ryu ju jitsu in 1991, trained often and very hard under a variety of superb instructors until a house move forced me to find new pastures, continued with Ju Jitsu until another move and no available JJ classes resulted in one p'd off esprit having to go to Judo instead. Not too bad cos I always loved the throws anyway, this carried on until a few years ago when I had another child and moved here to France. So, history lesson over, I am due to start retraining in JJ and Judo this coming week close to home as i now have achoice of venues coming out of my ears and could probably manage to train every night of the week and then some within about 20 miles of home, I've found heaven!! PS Alansmurf - Noticing Hannya as your avatar and thinking hard to the distant past, you're not the same Alansmurf who graded shodan the day before me at Gosport are you? If you are, how are ya you old irish get I you're not ignore the ramblings of an ageing nutter lol Good to be here anyway, the only trouble with France is they all soeak French lol its nice to talk MA in English.
first message ever been reading the forums for a week or so now and thought I should join in. Just started jujitsu six weeks ago and loving it and am determined to progress with it. Actually did begin 8 years ago and graded at uni but left after 6 mths or so... lazy lazy. So here I start again and like I say loving it and am thinking of maybe taking up an additional art at some point, once I'm making progress and settled.. so the forums are good for a source of info.. Anyways, hi all!!
