PLEASE READ - unacceptable topics

Recently there has been an increase in the use of humour concerning rape, homosexuality etc that is simply going too far.

As you know MAP does allow a bit of edgy humour (and we mods are responsible for a fair share of it), but it has been going over the edge of late.

Any kind of jokes, humour, images etc depicting rape is simply not acceptable, and will be dealt with seriously by the mod team.

The same goes for homophobia, racism, sexism and so on.

As usual, we will tolerate more in the supporting members' section, but please remember that MAP is a family friendly site

We don't hesitate to ban people who express homophobic, sexist or racist views - please don't think that saying it was a joke makes it ok.

If people continue, we will take action.

Now to resume your scheduled programming.

OK, so racist jokes, homophobic jokes, and sexist jokes are out? I think the sexist jokes is half of the give and take of the female vs male threads..... (don't ban me)

 

I don't think mildly sexist jokes are wrong.

Examples - joking about my sense of direction/unnecessary collection of shoes is fine. Joking about sexual assault is not fine.

 

Unfortunately there are those people that, unless things are spelled out in the single most finite detail, will be compelled to SEEK the border of acceptability...

I know on my previous board I had to spell out every single rule or spend days answering every "ok, so what if..." question. Made me nuts. The good thing is it seems like the vast majority of MAPers "gets it" and wont play that game.

Not sure I've ever heard a joke about sexual assault but then again I don't want to either. Good idea. How about blonde jokes....? Or bald jokes since I'm bald.....What do you call lice on a bald mans head????? Homeless, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAA, ok that wasn't that good of one....:bang:

 

I've gotta be honest, this is without a doubt the NICEST, most polite board I've ever been on. I've belonged to boards where the general tone would have most of your ears bleeding and leave you huddled under your beds in the fetal position. You either logged on ready to battle or not at all.

Your worst day here is nothing like the mildest day there so I can see how certain levels of misbehavior can seem like large transgressions. I haven't been here very long but it seems like exercising some common sense and a little decorum is about all you need to get along. How that could possibly escape someone is a little beyond me...

A little pokin and jabbin in good natured fun is fine but anyone who's paying even the slightest bit of attention can see that anything more than that is out of place.

Eh, people... I just don't get 'em... the fact that this post exists HERE of all places is testament to how blind some folks can be...

Not for nothin but its stuff like this that gets you in trouble. I appreciate dry humor, even off-color, racy humor but this was just off the mark. Not trying to pick on you in anyway, but in light of our little "spat" earlier I found it appropriate.

You have a unique approach to humor unfortunately its one you have to wield carefully brother.

Aw poop! I love dead baby jokes.

Probably because society often makes the assumption that as a female, I must be sensitive, fuzzy, a great listener, too nice to disagree with anyone, and that I absolutely love babies and children and can't help melting over them and wanting some of my own. And I like annoying people who make that assumption.

I'll refrain from posting even my mildest ones here, though, they are pretty messed up.

 

We at MAP are all over it like white on rice. You gotta get up early to get stuff by us (and our lovely members who are dilligent and report the stuff we miss - thank you). Even his 8 hour time difference didn't help!

That seems a little over the top. Rape isn't funny, but that doesn't mean that jokes involving rape can't be funny. Whether they should be posted on here is a different issue, but I think your being over sensitive really
