Jaques Muguruza 7th Dan Yoshinkan [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNIrNt7GUcI"]201203246.MTS - YouTube[/ame] he was one of the first westerners to come out of Japan and spread Yoshinkan in europe, I believe he was the first westerner to be allowed to do the riot police course at Tokyo Honbu, the course that eventually became the Senshusei course featured in Angry White Pyjamas I was lucky enough to be able to train with him last weekend. Very tight, powerful technique. He almost broke my elbow with a Hijiate Kokyunage EDIT: 4.14 is a highlight!

Nice flow, and good application to someone attacking and resisting a bit - makes it awkward every now and then, but those guys showed good improvisation.
Really nice demo from Mori Sensei 7th Dan Yoshinkan [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xcFwtm4LMs"]Mori Shihan Yoshinkan Aikido 7th Dan Fight for Life 2012 Demo - YouTube[/ame] Some really interesting stuff going on with the short jo/batton. Personally never seen that before in Yoshinkan
Wonderful demo by Thambu Sensei at the recent 100 years of Aikido celebration in Malaysia A history and philosophy lesson punctuated with incredible technique. Totally worth 15 mins of your time [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkXXDDP11Ss"]100 Years Of Aikido Demo by Joe Thambu Sensei - YouTube[/ame] Uber excited that I get to train with him this month!
I like it when teachers emphasize a thematic or informative demonstration...its more like a seminar that way. Very cool.

Well Dean, the Suburi practice is for the following reasons: To find ur own centre feeling, to execute movements without tensing your upper body, to practice your Kokyu, to practice your hanmi position and to move your body with weapon (bokken or jo) precisely for Taijutsu techniques, to practice your Zanchin, correct posture etc. When one can understand weapons, one's Aikido becomes sharper and more precise in executing Taijutsu as the weapons interlink with them...
