cool Aikido videos

seems a little compliant to me. understandable given the reputation of the world class sensei but seemed more of a demo of his technique rather than effectiveness. the female uke's cuts are not exactly threatening. she basically gives him her hand to do the technique.

do you all agree or disagree?

 

Agreed. It is a demo of technique. But I don't necessarily agree that that means it has no effectiveness. On the contrary, those are powerful, dynamic techniques which takes an extremely good uke to be on the receiving end

Fair point about the uke's attacks. Not as threatening as they could be. But given the nature of the demo (it's half demo, half lecture to an audience you can't see. The video has cut most of the teaching/talking out) it's about the breakdown and structure of the techniques. Incredibly executed techniques
