Anybody do any competitive running here? I'm seriously thinking of joining a club to get some coaching. I raced at school and only took up martial arts a year or so ago. At the moment I'm not sure which to go with or to go with both. I want to take running as far as I humanly can in terms of middle distance time. Any thoughts? I've been trying to improve, running every day, twice somedays between 3-5K. This week I ran twice with a backpack for >20mins but my 5K time at the end of the week was slower than last week and I got overtaken by somebody I was way ahead of last week. Also I took creatine to offset a veggie diet and gain more power. What can I do beyond this? Do more longer runs (e.g. 5-6miles)?
