resistance techniques

    Hi MAPers I have a question.
    Ive recently been experimenting with using resistance whilst practicing my MA techniques. Ive been practising strikes and trapping using dynamic tension and using an inner bicycle tube for resistance(I know you can also use cable appuratus for this).
    From what ive been told and read this increases the strength of the muscles and connective tissue involved in the technique.
    What im wondering is does anyone know of any other bennefits this type of training can produce? or does anyone know of any negative effests? does anyone else use this type of training?
