This was at Collingwood, Ontario (Canada). My lifts were snatch 75/80/85x and clean & jerk 102/105/108 (77kg class). [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygEYRgwt_RA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygEYRgwt_RA[/ame] Thanks MAP! I never would have touched a weight if it weren't for you guys. Note: I borrowed that singlet. It kept riding up lol.
congrats, solid lifts there. your first clean and jerk was kinda funny, but props for chasing it down
Hey some quick questions regarding the comp... How did you place? How were the different categories broken up? What is the judging criteria?
well done man i am very impressed. they are good solid numbers (and ever so slightly higher than mine :bang: ) despite having a lot less mass than me. keep training and im sure you will go far
Thanks guys! I think I came in 4th (by miles). In Olympic style weightlifting, you get 3 attempts on each of the two competition lifts, the snatch and clean&jerk. The judging criteria includes full arm lockout (i.e. no press out) when you catch the weight (both jerk and snatch) and a few seconds hold at overhead position (drop when signalled). You get 30 seconds to complete the lift. The lifting categories are 56, 62, 69, 77, 85, 94, 105, and 105+. I was in the 77kg class (75.7kg at weigh in). Man I never knew I looked so weak and fraile until I saw myself lifting. I'm 5' 8" if any of you were wondering.
Know nothing about weightlifting but they looked big, congrats on having the bottle to compete and congrats on 4th
How much is that in pounds just curious? How long have you been lifting by the way looked really good!
