Hi guys, i used to have out of shape hips and went to the physio this was about 3 years ago and she straightened it all out, i dont know if its linked but i did TKD before that stopped and have started it again now. But now, my hips are really sore and i can kick high still but sidekicks and anything involving twisting my hips make them hurt. anyone else had this?
yes mate I have had this problem before, it sounds like you have tight itbs they are the long muscle that goes from the hips to the side of the knee. If these muscles are overworked they can cause the symptoms you say. If you go to a gym then work on the abductor machine this will help build your glutes up this will then take the strain off the itbs. Do it 3 or 4 times per week do some light stretching and see how it is in 6 to 8 weeks. By the way go to a physio to make sure that its the problem I said.
