    Ok guys... question time:

There was a group of Chinese guys who were big into their Western martial arts in Hong Kong. They were in Mongkok and did a bunch of test cutting/sword play/contact sparring etc. based on the western weapons and martial systems. They used to have a website with videos and all.... but for the life of me I can't find any mention of them on the web and seem to have lost the links.

No doubt they're still around... They had developed and were online retailing a foam/wood/plastic practice sword that was padded to an extent and relatively flexible and wrapped in a durable silver foil. Sort of an interesting item at least it was the first of it's kind that I'd seen on the market.

But I can't seem to find them or link...
So... does any of that ring a bell for any you WMA practitioners?
I need urgently to contact them for a production coming to HK that needs some props and practice gear - they've specifically requested 'western crusader type weapons' so it'd sure beat having to buy/import some of this stuff if I could just buy/rent from these guys locally.

    Anyone?

And yes the irony that I'm here in Hong Kong and asking about this isn't lost on me.
    :D
Just goes to show that despite what people think... I don't know everything... or at least I don't have it on hand at all times. :p

    cheers,
    Slip

    Ok a few points here.

    1. Padded weapons suck big time. You can't effectively train martial arts with padded weapons.
    2. Lance unfortunately has not had any instructor to learn under so he's trying to work from books alone and it shows. Most of what his being done here is not good.
    3. The multi weapon sparing stuff is crap. Nobody is paying even the slightest nod to the fundamentals of swordsmanship.
    4. No footwork, no posture, no measure, no correct use of guards.

All in all I wouldn't waste my time.

I think he's only after their gear, not their expertise (or lack of)

Why go to them when he has hanwei there who can produce western weapons.
