I've noticed that a lot of aikido school in my area are stand-alone dojos, well my question is how much do you guys pay a month to train. I pay $85 and that's pretty much the general price around this area. I'm just wondering b/c aikido training seems so expensive, especially for a poor college student like myself.

Although I do not take Aikido, I looked at the school when I first joined here. It is 50 bucks a month for as many classes as you want for 6 days a week. I think that is about 12 classes a week.

    Regards,

    Sean

I pay 50p a class, yes really. Its a uni club so gets funding through the uni. Our Sensei (Tintin) wants to keep the cost as low as possible so that even if your a poor student you can afford to train! :D

Wow ... amazing ... your schools must be cash machines.
I pay 10 Euro (ca. 11 US - Dollars) per month. There are 12 lessons per week. But within the next weeks I go to another Dojo because the Dojo is to far - I found one more near to me.

50 bugs per mo. is very expensive. In out town you'll get training in 10 MAs for 50 $ per month.
One Dojo for example, offers training in Krav Maga, Ninjutsu, Thai Bo, Kickboxen and others for 30 $.

Some seem very expensive and some too cheap.
I guess I'm in the middle somewhere.

    I pay 3pounds per lesson twice a week - 2hrs each session

Still not with you on this one, sorry if I'm being slow. I can see how a school can be cheap in comparison to others but I don't see how it can be too cheap! Maybe it's just semantics! :D

Ya big silly he means "very cheap" as in prices are relative.

    $80 vs $40 very cheap
    $40 vs $10 still very cheap :D

Okay I'm with you now!!! Sorry, it's been a hell of a long week!! :) "Very cheap" makes sense "too cheap" was confusing me as I was trying to work out how it could be too cheap....that's kind of like saying that this beer tastes too good...I wouldn't have thought that possible!!

Don't mind me! I need a very early night and a relaxing weekend!

    cost

$50/month unlimitted (classes 6 days a week, varying from 1 hour to 3 hours in duration) in Phoenix. In Santa Ana, California I paid $65/month for a similar schedule.

well, all the prices you guys have listed are pretty reasonable. I've been interested in joining a BJJ school, and man it's 110 for two days a week. Quite expensive, but I really wanna start.
