What are the "old rules" and "old scoring system"?

    Ah, I've always been rather interested in San Shou, i might ask to pick your brain in future if i get some specific questions together.

    Another point on the catch leg run forward is after 2 steps either fighter must use a hit that way they can step again,so its catch hit on or before 2 steps and step again wash and repeat if poss :)

    Older rules used to allow a fighter to grab ropes with the hand now its a foul:)

    Older rules allowed a hip throw and leg reap now no hip throw allowed but the leg reap can be used on inside but not outside of opponents leg:)

    While it is slightly off the point you were making, has their actually been a significant change in scoring processes that affected the tactics of the sport, or would references to old scoring systems be a reference to traditional Thai scoring compared with more European methods?
