Hey im out for tips on keeping the power in uppercuts when using them against taller opponents, im cool with this with my rear hand(up to a certain point) but my lead uppercut isnt cutting the mustard when im trying to get a taller guys chin in sparring. Does any one have any tips/ideas?
When in close i try to slightly squat down, then as im firing the uppercut in the up-ward motion i rise onto my tip toes. This may help you.
When throwing a lead uppercut rotate your body the opposite way and then spring back and up in the same manner as your rear uppercut-this works well against tall boxers but you will have to be good at finding your range-practise with footwork for this...
