    I found this :
    http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid=-5231835166570890125
and was looking for opinions on it...
Seems a bit of an antidote to the whacked out stuff

Again to be fair that video was made while Koichi Tohei was still under the guidance of O Sensei. In fact O Sensei appears in the longer version.

    Very valid point.

On a lighter note, I am now going to have to find another video :D

Clips are a load of bollocks. That guy should be forced to shave his awesome beard, he doesn't deserve it. The whole thing is a pure joke, and I have no time for it.

LOL go for it. As I don't practice Ki Aikido any more my only concern is that the debate is fair and even handed and not just a slaging match.

I thought I'd throw this in as a demonstration of bs in the extreme:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJlIUJwDqcM&mode=related&search="]taiji - YouTube[/ame]

It's not Aikido but highly amusing and clearly demonstrates the amount of crap out there, all the same. How can people believe this muck?

This reminded me of that bearded guy posted earlier.

Oh come on that's got to be some sort of spoof right?

I've no idea if it's a spoof or not but I thought it was hilarious :)
Dare I say it...it shows the type of bs/misunderstanding that surrounds ki.
(No this isn't an opening for a discussion on ki)

The main difference in my approach (traditional aikido) is the kata dori "techniques". Grasping of the wrist is an EXERCISE to help train in taisabaki. They are NOT techniques. Yet many aikido clubs see them as such. Whole practises are given over to them indeed complete seminars.
This and the complete lack of a "sense of danger" when being attacked.

That last video. It could not have been worse if (HE) was in it.

"HE" who is "HIM" that shall not be spoken of. Yeah I agree. I think I'll ban discussions about Ki from now on actually.

Sorry the question was just information for me. I honestly wasn't trying to troll.

I had no idea it was one of those discussions, apologies.

No apologies needed. It is a running joke between Graham and me.

Koyo's a gentle soul. He doesn't hurt you. It's the impact with the floor that hurts. :p
