For some reason ITF TKD sparring has always reminded me of cats fighting. I guess its the series of wild punches that get thrown in. Nice sparring Gizmo. I always found TKD sparring a hell of lot more scarier than Muay thai sparring. Rapid fire style sparring.

Interesting videos I thought you TKD people might like this video of the North Korean demo team. The demonstration was performed in Kangwondo on April 7th. http://www.mookas.co.kr/tv_view.asp?news_no=5936 I am also sure that many TKDin will raise a few eyebrows when watching this video http://www.mookas.co.kr/tv_view.asp?news_no=6031
I don't care much for North Koreans but the demo was pretty cool (amazing what you can do with a dictatorship in your athletics!) I really like the jump/flying/turning back kick break at the 40 second mark - that's a cool break. The jump over the motorcycle is pretty cool. I love the guy gets the boards broken over him (that's crazy stuff in my book) - the best part is when it doesn't break - it doesn't phase him in the least. I'd say this stuff is as good as the Korean Tigers material... maybe even a little more creative. Thanks! OMG!!!! That was priceless and whoever set up "Poomsae Dance Taekwondo" is a genius in Korea... it's so much more than Tae Bo, has 2000 year old Korean roots, and is a room filled with pretty Korean girls and a few token guys. If there were one nearby, I'd join for the eye candy. However, if I were the instructor of the little Poom Belt kids who couldn't muddle through reverse punches though, I'd pound them.

I can't read Hangul, but are you sure these are North Koreans? As far as I know, Kim Jong-il is the only one with internet access in North Korea... Don't want to insult the demo team if they are actually South Koreans...
Yes, it says 'bukhan taekwondo' in hangul, which means North Korean Taekwondo in Korean. The demonstration was given during an exchange meeting in South Korea. mookas.com is a Korean site with news and videos about martial arts. Even if you don't speak Korean it is worth a visit now and then. They have some interesting videos.

Hi all, Just to say that myself and my training partners-cum-students have recently been freestyling applications, working towards a grading at the end of the year in Jung Shin. We've been videoing them and you can find them at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=practicaltaekwondo. These are very rough as we're literally plucking them out of the air, going through as many as we can think of, rather than breaking them down, evaluating them, making them look nice etc.
