You know, Andrzej, you do a lot of good work promoting Yiquan, translating articles, sharing information - and that's something you do out of love and devotion, which is admirable - you've done a great deal for the true Chinese boxing fans. But you know, if fight training and fight application hasn't really been a serious interest for you in your training, then maybe you're not the right type of person to be presenting that aspect of your art? I've always followed a policy of trying to be as positive to the other members who post their videos here as I hope people will be to me; but, the over all policy here is that putting up your videos is asking for opinions. Positively, your push hands look good, but on the down side, your boxing is poor - poorly executed, poor footwork, over balanced, your movement is, well, all wrong - and I'm afraid, it's not because of stylistic parameters or anything like that - it's just not a realistic skill area for you. I know you have health problems affecting your fitness, but a good boxing coach would transform your boxing, even within the parameters of your linmited fitness, by improving your actual execution of technique. I know that you love Yiquan, but when you love something, you do what you can for it, not for yourself, and I'm sure you'll continue to self-lessly promoting yiquan. An aspect of that worth thinking about is what other martial artists, especially those involved in fight training, will think when they see that kind of 'fight' level. I know in the past you've handled those kinds of criticisms by saying that you never claim to be a great fighter - the problem is, it's not about being great, it's about, first of all, being average - developing the kind of average fight level that any amatuer fight based training will produce. I don't belive that your videos show that you have achieved that level, and I'm not surprised you edit them to eliminate videos of you sparring. Best advice - edit them yet further, to take out all your fight stuff. Hate me, attack me, call me names; in the end, if what I say is true, it will still be true at the end. And you know, you could probably get a lot of help here at MAP on how to improve.
Using some zhan zhuang, shi li and tui shou practice to work on correcting problems which were revealed during san shou session. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yv8Dr-kVuUw"]YouTube - Z treningu yiquan - zhan zhuang, shi li, tui shou[/ame]
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk7mbhPVnhE"]YouTube - Z treningu yiquan, styczeń 2009[/ame] Short comment: This part of training is related to integrating tui shou with san shou. In san shou contact is often very short, and it is result of clashing between arms, not just connecting them, so using this kind of skill which you develop in tui shou will be much more difficult here. At this stage it is just to give students more idea about it, so they can better understand what basic training and tui shou serves. This way their practice will lead into the right direction, instead of seeking things which would work only in pushing hands but don't work in free fighting with violent series of hitting. At the same time they notice, that things which they already understand and are doing quite well in basic training, and are able to do in pushing hands, "dissappear" when it comes to this kind of sparring-like training. The main element of this and previous week training, was getting the feel of situation, when in exchange of punches (while maintaining the idea of "diagonal surface" - xie mian), there comes clash of forearms - there is main force (hitting opponent) and supplemental force (redirecting his action) - the same idea which is present in most basic mo li in zhan zhuang and in shi li. Of course this is just preliminary stage for working with something more. To make it less stressful, the punches exchange is on torso level, excluding head, so students can concentrate on feeling and understanding this situation of clash, without being disturbed by need of protecting head. Even though the exercise is quite simple, it turned out, that some students panicked so much, that they did completely different things (like just escaping back all the time etc.), so there was need to give more explanation and corect their performance in this situation. So part of the training had to be devoted to correcting panicful behaviour which prevented from making the exercise right way.

One of our instructors, who has long experience as bodyguard/security guard is trying to develop a short self-defense program for those who completed at least our basic yiquan curriculum. So far just researching the subject and experimenting. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qt5eU-LyXUA"]YouTube - Elementy samoobrony na bazie podstaw yiquan[/ame]
