Smite Club is a school age historical fencing club at the International Grammar School, Sydney where for the last few years Paul Wagner has been running a weekly class, which he call's "Smite Club". It's basically a fun after-school activity where the kids learn a slightly generic form of Highland broadsword, and bout with a mix of boffers, shinai and steel (They are currently using the Hanwei Hutton Sabres). Well this should be an activity on every school after closing. A much better time killer that drugs and other ****. The steel thingi did actually not look bad from a time wasters view point, and with take downs . Nice project.
I was involved in a similiar type of schools 'martial arts of the world' project in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley - although I got them to train with singlesticks and fight with padded sticks, fencing helmets & padded armour. The kids loved it, especially the girls!!!! Louie
