Small addition to site

How about a collection of animated martial arts gifs? You get people to volunteer and help with searching for and making them. Sounds any good?

 

Think that would take up too much bandwidth. wouldnt it??

 

I think thats the reason we don't have a section of Mpegs, its not for a lack of material.

 

just out of interest how does teh site finance itself?

 

Most forums (including mine) support themselves with the top admins and webmasters paying along with contributions from some of the members. Is this what you do here.

If money and bandwith are a problem, why not put a donation box on the forums? I'm sure many members here would contribute something each month.

 

Another idea: How about belts to go with your Custom User Title similar to what www.martialtalk.com/foumr/index.php have? If it's not too complex, you could make up a system for each of the main arts that there are fourms too (Aikido, Karate, Kung Fu, Taekwon-Do etc.), the way the art themselves have.

 

I've been on forums before that used a "cyber-belt" system.

I don't like it. It equates volume of posts with seniority or superiority. You've only to look at the top poster here to see how ridiculous THAT is :Angel:
