Louie What is the name of the sheild that u show on your website? Also what size is it? This is the one you show with the sword and dirk/dagger. Regards Boards
Targe Shield Hi Boards... It's a 'targe' used by both Irish and Highland warriors up until the mid-1700's. I believe it was also carried by a few highland regiments in the American wars. Here's a nice link to a few traditional designs & sizes.... http://www.targemaker.co.uk/ Louie
 Wow, that's a very pretty shield! Mine's ugly, but it has to be since I train with it... and it's home made.
Pretty indeed. I would love to own one but it would have to hang on my wall because they are just way too pretty to spar with.
I actually saw some Scottish reenactors in Scottland kill a rather nice looking targe using a mace and a axe.....it was kinda sad. A pretty targe should be hung on a wall or used as an accesorry if you do that whole reenactment thing, not brutally murdered with impact weapons....
