From the Oxford Weekly october 2003, 5 10 2003, Six policewomen sat on a robber so he couldn't move. They tackled the thief by wrestling him down and then sitting on him. The six girls all young recruits have been recommended by the Thames Valley Police for valour rewards. The mugger who tried to mug an old lady was caught red handed in the oxford memorial park. The crazed thief was seen to be trying to arrest an handbag from an elderly lady when the girls pounced. Attempting to run through them foolishly he slipped and falling to the groung was sat on by Police girls who had no problem restraining him by sitting on him. Jackie 3 months into her probation said, " we hadn't been issued with handcuffs as yet so we sat on him it seemed the logical and sensible thing to do. He went crazy at first but when he realised he wasn't going anywhere he calmed down. He must have realised he couldn't move with us girls sitting on him. When asked how they done it Jackie said, " It was quite simple really. We have all had lessons in judo at hendon college but we didn't need it as it happened. When he fell and slipped we flipped him over sitting on his arms, chest stomach and knees we had to sit on him for forty minutes at which reinforcements arrived." There must be a moral to this story....safety in numbers girls!!
