This is how i usually play the game. When its the other way were you only get the first shot as a possible miss we generally play the free ball/table rule. But if im joining a table as the challenger i always ask what rules they are playing and if they join i usually tell them what rules im playing. I rarely ever play against anyone other than my mates though
Being raised a "confederate-american", we were taught to play by saloon rules. which means it doesn't matter what the sport rules are; you decide on the rules before you even start, whatever they may be. I have seen violations of such rules end in getting shot or, since the old timers thought guns were for sissies(and they were right),they would end up in a good old fashioned straight razor fight. Either way; I don't care where or how I am playing; I get the rules right BEFORE the game starts! And that includes if they are made up!
So nobody on MAP knows about federations/governing bodies etc? Damn, I'll have to register on a pool forum now. Seriously, these pool forums are no different to MAP, you get all the same: Thread - "this technique works" Reply - "prove it on Youtube!" Thread - "question on X organisation?"
