My children are in love with this little guy: Meet 'Bay', 9-week old chocolate-colored, wirey-furred little ball of fun. Bay is a male Chesapeake Bay retriever (the Official Maryland State Dog), which means that the kids can take him to school for show-and-tell. He has formed an instant attachment to my youngest son (the 9-yr-old with Asperger Syndrome), and this has been GREAT for them both! Just had to share the news of our latest 'family arrival'.
beatiful pup. there lots of work but worth it patrica mcconnell's books re some of my favorites.. that and lots of DVRed dog whisperers..... congrats!
your too right they are hard work! it was like having a baby in the house! i love em though! such good fun - they transform the whole feel of the house! and how it looks too...!
Choc. labs are short/straight-haired dogs. Ches. retrievers have thicker, wavier fur and stronger (wider?) hips. There's also some difference in snout shape and temperament. They are about the same size and color. Mine's cuter
Capt Ann - doesn't this breed of dog pretty much love water? I used to live in a trailer that had wallpaper on the walls and for some weird reason... on the ceiling of old hunting scenes.. lol... with retrievers on it and ducks.
Absoloooootly!! We live about 1 mile from the Chesapeake Bay, so this summer the kids can run wild with him in the water.
