Hi there, I have been reading the forums for a few weeks now and I decided that it was about time I joined. Little background on me, I started training in Lau Gar in Fife did that for a year before switching to Shotokan(ESKA) under an instructor with the JKA who is now the JKA rep for Scotland. Trained with him for four years before moving down south and I have been picking up little bits on my own since. Cheers, Fiz
Hi Fizz Lau, If I remember correctly in Lau Gar(mid 90's) I started to train with someone called Rob in Kirkcauldy but moved to Colin Haxton, I think his name was, at the Dunfermline Lau Gar club, I got to orange sash but stopped training before the next grading. I then went on to train with Jim Wood(about 1996) 5th Dan JKA(now 6th). Reached purple belt looking back on it I should have graded more but I stopped grading for three years after I reached green belt, belts don't mean much to me. I am looking forward to discussing things with you all! Cheers, Fiz
