Martial artists forget when it comes to the streets, they're gonna be fighting from a place of disadvantage. It's foolish to assume martial arts is enough for self defense. My Wing Chun friend was a street fighter. Criminals who hated him knew that so they used weapons to try to kill him. He came across a skinhead who pulled out a 12-gauge shotgun and pointed it at his face. My bud said "you wanna shoot me? Pull the damn trigger." Guy laughed and left. Later, the skinhead with his gang pulled up to his house with guns and lit the place up with bullets. Luckily, my friend took cover and no one was hurt. They could've easily killed him rather than drive off especially since he didn't have firearms at the time. If the skinhead wanted to kill him, surely pulling the trigger in the first place would have worked best?
Luckily I live in a place with good gun control laws so don't have to worry about firearms or treat the people around me as enemies. I'm more likely to be killed by an angry cow to be quite honest.
It absolutely applies to a gun. If criminals get their guns illegally (many do), they're probably going to be more advanced than civilian guns. You're likely to be outnumbered and outgunned in the above case. My friend said the guy was a coward for not pulling the trigger and relying on his buds to help him lol.
Speaking as one who once found himself on the wrong end of an angry bull......how are you coming with that angry cow Self-defense routine
I'm mostly using pre-emptive awareness and avoidance tactics. I try not to hang around where angry cows hang out. They tend to work in gangs (or "herds" as some clueless people sometimes call them) and often wear tell-tale "gang colours" (white with black patches) so if you are switched on you can avoid them for the most part. And if that fails I've done some knockdown Karate related to Kyokushin so can always karate chop their horns off if needed.
I loved the first two films, back in the day, I'll have to watch this one now and ruin my memories! I hope your happy! Haha
