Well car is all packed with training gear, some giveaways and raffle prizes. Clothing is sorted and all that is left is a good night's sleep, an early rise for a shave and haircut and a trip to the train station to pick someone up. Their train is due to arrive at 09.00 and it's a 15 minute drive to the venue. I should be there just before 09.30. For everyone else look to arrive at 10.00 to say hello, get changed and loosen yourself off.
Aegis has saved the day. He has spent all afternoon sorting out weapons and will be holding a HEMA session n place of the Japanese sword sessions. Full details tomorrow.
Not a great start. caught a blood blister while towelling off. Blood everywhere. Already patched up and the day hasn't even started.
Great MAP Meet!! I really enjoyed the sessions, I learnt a lot and the folks from our club had an amazing time too Thanks so much to everyone who organised it and ran the sessions Sorry I had to shoot off - we had to get Oli back as his pregnant wife went into hospital - luckily that's all worked out OK - phew! Just supping a well deserved beer to take the edge off the aching muscles See you all next year I hope
Fantastic meet today! Big thanks to Simon and Mitch for organising the whole thing, and massive praise to the guys leading the sessions. After two sessions with Smurf, I'm now capable of folding myself down for easy storage. Some awesome Jujutsu locks and holds Ricky running the Arnis sessions, scary dude who can flash a knife over your body, carve you into mini-fillets and feed you to yourself, before you even realise what has happened. Loads of fun with Ian doing the HEMA session at the end of the day - can't go wrong with whopping great swords! Well done everyone for raising so much for two deserving charities! Can't wait to come back next year!
Superb day. Tired out and my feet are killing me. Tomorrow I'll make a start on the pictures and video. I'll also post the final amounts raised.
You all helped raise £715.00 for Bloodwise. The raffle and late donations made £300 for Cancer Research. Over £1000 for charity. Thank you so much.
here is a group picture taken at the end of the event. Some had to leave early, but there were over 30 attendees today. https://www.instagram.com/p/BVKoeFcgz6m/?taken-by=martialartsplanet
Smurf, out of retirement, back on the mats and generally being awesome, a word I have used so much today, but with good reason. https://www.instagram.com/p/BVKTu4tAkPE/?taken-by=martialartsplanet
A great day and thanks to everyone who made it so. Sorry to Dan Bian and anyone else I didn't chat to in person, I meant to say hi but you were all busy having fun Just brilliant everyone, thank you so much Mitch
While we don't allow advertising we do allow support for those that help us. Aegis did a HEMA session and at very short notice Playwell Martial Arts Supplies helped us out with swords at a discounted rate and also donated the two knives in the picture for our raffle. Great job guys and thank you. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155404440277760&set=gm.10155249817447696&type=3&theater
