    Hi all,

In light of the terrorist acts recently and in the past and having read about some of the incredibly brave and selfless acts carried out by people I’ve just created the petition below.

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to create a medal awarded for 'selfless bravery in the face of terrorism' To create a medal for members of the public, emergency services and the armed forces who display self-less bravery in the face of terrorism and who, through their actions, demonstrate that Britain will not give in without a struggle.

You can sign it by going to the site below

Aren't the George Cross and Victoria Cross such a reward?

Dr NinjaBellydance What is your pleasure sir

Why is 'in the face of terrorism' more laudable than any other act of selfless bravery?

Kinda piddles all over all those people who run into burning buildings to save people or dive into stormy seas to rescue drowning children, no?

Actually, lets have a seperate category for each one.
    Ladies, 'Fireman appreciation'?! ;)

The Victoria Cross is a military reward "In the face of the enemy" so members of the public can't get them.

The George Cross is the one for civilians :The GC is the civilian counterpart of the Victoria Cross and the highest gallantry award for civilians as well as for military personnel in actions which are not in the face of the enemy or for which purely military honours would not normally be granted
