Hello there! I have a problem- when I click the "view first unread post" button, it just takes me to the most recent post. Has this problem got to do with my settings? Any advice is much appreciated!!!
The view last unread post buttons still works as it did previously, although it is perhaps a bit misleading. What it does is take you to the first post that has been posted on that thread since your last visit to the site. So if you have not visited that thread in a while, it will not really reflect the last post you havn't read. If you read that thread every time you visit it will "do what it says on the tin"! It works this way as otherwise it would need to keep a record of every post on the site and whether you have read it or not. Multiply 100,000 posts by 5,000 users and you get ...... well a very large number anyway! This way, all it needs to record is when you last visited the site (1 record per user). Hope this makes sense.
