How do you differentiate a kungfu fan from a practitioner?

It was suggested that fandom is a kind of religion.

I have sort of identified the characteristics of practitioners as self-actualization, self-realization, self-glorification, selflessness, and self-denial. Maybe it all added up to a kind of "superiority complex", what ever that means.

You have to read all that into doing martial arts to be considered a practitioner in your opinion?

I disagree. To be a practitioner, one needs to actually do/ practice the art. It's that simple.

Thanks, I was thinking only practitioners will lead to these characteristics and martial art fan might not have it.
