I've just seen an advert for a BJA seventh Dan teaching seminars, all good stuff, however in it they're teaching
"Jugi gatame" , as its Steve G, I assume it's armbars (which would be great!) a quick google only brings up French judo resources, so my question is basically.. Why jugi and not juji, is it a Japanese to French translation issue, or something else??

A typo, perhaps? I'm sure there isn't a jugi gatame in the judo gokyo.

I was thinking that, but the guy teaching has a few videos labeled like that too, so whether it's a mistake or not, he's very consistant calling it jugi!

How you choose to Romanise Japanese is fairly arbitrary, a quick Google shows that spelling to be common in French Judo and 'g' in English can be hard or soft so it's arguably just as good as the more common one.
