I have no reason to believe that Hatsumi didn't say that... ...but I equally have no reason to believe Hayes when he says Hatsumi did say that. The glaring omission in that little piece was that no-one asked what the next four levels entail! How much more awesome does it get after psychic premonitions?
Ironically my brother Hannibal, this is a fake Buddha quote and should not be believed simply because it was written on the Web ;-P It's from a book written in 1956 that mistranslated the original verse from the Kalama Sutta, which reads:
Not the Kalama Sutta, but indeed a modern re-interpretation related to Buddha Jayanti , and really even the tone of this 60 year old false quote is very modern compared to many of the Buddha's recorded statements, in my opinion. It stood out a bit! But a great example nonetheless I guess of the point itself...the eyes blind, how can you trust what someone told you the Buddha said? If you meet him on the road...and so on
I don't believe in ESP, chi/ki, the force or any similar superhuman abilities I do, however, feel that the idea of sakki and training to incorporate it into your movements has a lot of value Oh and in my experience SKH tends to add an unhealthy dose of his own embellishments to his memoirs...
No disrespect to any martial arts style/martial artist intended by this post but I was just searching for Ninjitsu videos on youtube and came across this video...ouch! [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYQiPRUu7b0"]MMA vs NINJA - YouTube[/ame]
That's Dominick Cruz, the current UFC bantamweight champion. That said, unknown ninjutsu practitioner has some big cahones.
