What is your favorite sacrifice throw? Mine is Uki Waza http://www.judoinfo.com/images/nauta/ukiwaza.gif
I don't have a favourite because it doesn't pay to specialize and... oh, bugger it, I like Taware Gaeshi!
Currently training to improve my Maki komi's as I've apparently got the bulid to be quite good with them. Col
Although I have not done Judo for many years, yoko-tomoe-nage was the perfect sacrifice throw in my eyes. To throw the guy back in the direction he was coming from, wonderful
valley drop throw i think you would know it as tani otoshi followed by rice bale also known as teware gaeshi
Re: Maki Komi Sutemi's... Next time you have someone do one to you, drop your arms around them at lower/floating ribcage level and squeeze like your life depends on it. Actually, let me revise that... Don't squeeze that hard initially because it's only training. Just enough to let them know you're 'there'. Let me know how it works for you.
Good point Jim, thats why I prefer Makikomi to the side. Harder to counter as your off Uke's center-line.
Yeah, that's true Dave. But why don't you post your reply with all the swearwords back in again. Editing's for wimps!
Happy New Year, Jim; No way, don't use swearwords, it would just be more spelling corrections that I'd have to make.
Yoko-Sutemi-Waza works for me. When it comes off well it breaks stuff, so be careful in training. Confuses drunk attackers
