Really? What's the similarity that they see between how Ramadan and Lent are observed? But by the rules of Islam itself, when one cannot observe Ramadan at the normal time, one can observe it later. It's a moveable fast. Therefore, in the interest of accommodating everyone else, which itself is an attitude of charity, which is explicitly encouraged by their religion, these school children (and their parents) could observe Ramadan later.
