reading a thread today i found the "quick reply" button had the same effect that "quote" normally (and still) does. on closer inspection after pressing back, the quick reply box was already available for use. as to the smilies (on the right when writing posts properly), well they seem to have the same effect as page up on the keyboard. no characters are inserted into the text box. both of these features have always worked for me in the past. (why do i feel like i'm taking the thunder from johnnyX...?)
Similar thing happens to me with Firefox. Could just be your browser. Which one and what version are you using. Cheers.
Has this worked fine before? Quick reply could be down to a cache problem. Delete it all and see if it helps
looks like i forgot to enable scripts and applets. that's the trouble when you can chose how secure things are. while mudering my cach i found 40MB of junk files too....oh the joys of windows.
