Okay, not sure how many of you keep up with social media on different platforms, but how many of you are aware of the leaked emails from the DNC and the fallouts since?

Summary for those who don't know:

Wikileaks published nearly 20,000 emails from the DNC (Democratic National Committee). Now a lot of them are silly/trivial ones like this one (that says "I love you too. No homo" https://twitter.com/TheGingerarchy/status/756880369366994944).

But there's also some incredibly serious allegations, such as:

    1) The Democrats colluding with the media & rigging at least one primary against Bernie Sanders: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-...gged-primary-reveal-extensive-media-collusion
    Which led to:
    2) The Chair of the DNC (implicated in the leaked emails as working to commit election fraud) stepping down from her job...only to be given a job on Hillary's PR campaign: http://usuncut.com/news/clinton-hires-wasserman-schultz/
Amusingly enough, this is the reaction she got when she tried to speak earlier today: https://twitter.com/frankthorp/status/757566384532434944
    3) The DNC has apologised to Sanders following the email leaks: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box...108-dnc-vice-chairwoman-apologizes-to-sanders
    4) The DNC used rather...unfavourable...terms to refer to different demographics, such as the "taco bowl engagement" for Hispanics http://hypeline.org/dnc-email-leak-refers-to-hispanic-outreach-as-taco-bowl-engagement/
    5) There's rumours that the DNC planned to reward large donors with Federal titles: http://dailycaller.com/2016/07/24/l...-reward-big-donors-with-federal-appointments/
    6) There's the suggestion that the DNC were instructed to spread rumours that Sanders supporters were "violent" to try and discredit him: https://wikileaks.org/dnc-emails/emailid/9423

And one for the conspiracy theorists on MAP - the voter expansion data director of the DNC who was investigating "recent election fraud" turned up murdered. Of course there's already the conclusion he was assassinated, but no known data is available at this time: http://yournewswire.com/dnc-election-fraud-whistleblower-found-murdered/

Aaannnd the Observer also happened to run an article basically saying Wikileaks is working in the interests of the Russians to get Trump elected & stop Hillary: http://observer.com/2016/07/wikileaks-dismantling-of-dnc-is-clear-attack-by-putin-on-clinton/

So...yeah, it's been quite the debacle, lately.

    Thoughts?

Politics in the U.S. is one huge steaming tub of mixed mammal manure. Not sure at all how to even think about fixing it since all of those in power, in both the corporate and political worlds, have zero interest in changing anything for the betterment of the general populace.

Those are my thoughts, since you asked. :)

NEVER! The hideous light of the day star curses and burns us, yes it does!

    *hisses, flails* :D

It's been quite spectacular to see the fallout and such though, the protests, the shifts in opinions shown by polls showing support for Hillary bombing (which are always dodgy, but still) and so on. But I do love me a bit of drama:p

This election should have been a cakewalk of sorts for the Democrats and they’re still finding a way to goof it up. They’re as crooked as any other party, but that much everyone already knew.

Unless you listen to Hilldawg supporters on social media, who are still desperately trying to believe that she's a delicate little wallflower being stitched up by the evil corporations.

At least the majority of Trump Supporters seem to know he's a butt-monkey, but just don't care.

Seriously weird state of affairs that I want him to to win more than I do Hillary though.

My friend wrote this, but I think it's relevant:

    Daily cycle:
Horrific fact about Hillary campaign emerges.
    <I'm not voting, damn it.>
Donald Trump says anything at all.
    <Holy Hell I hope everyone votes.>

I experience it every damn day.

Trump makes me giggle. He's like the American business version of Prince Phillip. Every time he makes an appearance, you spend the entire time waiting for him to drop a clanger.

You want him to win because you wouldn't have him running your country. Since the main job of the President is diplomacy and he's commander-in-chief of the armed forces, I can't think of a more horrible fate for the U.S. than to have Trump elected President.

Makes me shudder just to think about it! :(

Trump is about as fit for presidency as I am to run the Mars space program. Clinton is a power hungry, fake, flip-flopping, faux-social activist crooked lying piece of dung but at least she can claim to have the necessary experience and skills for the job.

Far more preoccupying that the actual candidates is that the voting base of each camp is made up of people who blindly vote for Mr. Hankey if he ran under their banner. And this year we have Mrs. Hankey too, whose chance to be the first female president will continue to overshadow her horrendous track record. But hey, cracks in the glass ceiling rah rah rah, women this, women that rah rah, historical moment yadi yada. The distinction of being the first female president should go to someone deserving of making history - cue Michelle Obama - not fake-as-leatherette Hillary Clinton.

QFT  I've been saying that, usually less colorfully, every two years beginning with the 1994 election. I think it's undeniable that the Rep and Dem candidates are so poor because few people dare to vote outside those parties.

Oh yeah the "wasted vote" electioneering blackmail threat. The bipartite system's way to enforce the status quo.

Honestly, running a candidate who denies the existence of global climate change and wants to abolish the EPA pretty much forces me to the other side. I'd vote for Hanky too if he proposes more stringent environmental regulations, but something tells me he's not too big on clean water.

Well yes, that's part of it. I need my dose of #Schadenfreude in the evening :p

The other part is a matter of basic principle. Trump is an awful, awful person and is not qualified to do anything except be an impotent troll trying to do a can-can with an arm full of drunken peg-legged donkeys. BUT he's not a known criminal who got off from breaching federal law as the *latest* scandal.

But it's really like picking the shiniest of two turds.

    Failing that, vote Vermin Supreme.

That's what is so aggravating about this train wreck. It's really turning into a "by default" election. I hate Clinton with a passion but Trump is just so far off the deep end there's really no other option as far as candidates with a flying chance at actually getting elected. I'm not even sure Trump believes in the stuff he's peddling any more than Clinton believes in hers. That said I'm just a permanent resident so I don't vote...
