Confidence to use Aikido

    I agree, If the attacker only puts in enough energy to touch you and no more, then no one`s getting any benefit. He`s getting into a habit of doing poor attacks and you can`t practice your techniques against someone who`s actualy trying to do damage.

    What about strikers who don't over extend themselves?

    I dont yet still have enough power in my strikes to KO people and have done.

    Just a though for the street SD orientated side of it?

    Over extension is not a normal thing. It is a dumb thing.

    Yet Aikido does work on a full on attack

    to train against and the attacks are often over extended.
