I was wondering what is the perfect color to make an embroidery in a black belt. I like red, but almost everyone have their belt embroidered in golden Judo guys have their belts embroidered in red, and TKD in gold. Do you know any particular reason for it?
Gold for TKD my friend. All though my current belt is got yellow embroidery. My new one should be done in Gold. If not im gonna go get one shipped from the US or UK.
I think it would be thought of as so by most people who practice the art. Certainly all the people with bb's at my place (from what I've seen, haven't been going long) have gold embroidery.
I've only seen people with gold in TKD, but when I ordered mine from Mooto they also offered the choice of using silver. I thought I best stick with the classic gold just in case the silver was used for junior belts.
The people who just got their second dan at my dojang got blue embroidery. I thought that was strange, but if you look at the belt from far away it looks completely black.
i've only seen the gold--i think it looks impressive and that's probably why nice contrast--although i just left my belt black--that impresses me LOL
Gold as far as im aware is teh standard since every embriodered black belt ive ever seen is in gold(well teh odd yellow one but its almost teh same)
Does anybody know if this rule of blackbelts embroidered in gold is written in any regulation of the WTF or ITF?
Gold is best, but I've seen red on TKD bb's before. Red is harder to read, and lacks that classic appeal, IMHO.
Red is harder to read, but not everybody knows how to read Korean. So it is the same if you read it form 1 kilometer away than readining it from 1 meter away.
Dsuh is right for tkd the rank of dan is in gold, i have never seen it any other way. Best thing to do is to check with your school, they might not accept any other color. I just had to reorder a new belt, the one side is in korean which will say tae kwon do the other has my name written in english. I don't like belts that don't have your name on it. to me it seems as if its not really yours. i'm sure someone will think thats weird.
