I've never heard about this style until i came to this forum. It seems that everyone that does it is from the U.K. is it something that is only taught in the U.K. like Lau Gar kung fu? I'm not trying to be funny or cause any problems. My questions are serious. When i look up Lau Gar it seems that it's mainly taught in the U.K. these days.I was wondering was Choi Kwang Do the same? jeff
Oh no!!! Well....see for yourself. Bring about 8 packs of popcorn and 20 litres of coke, it's BIG fun The infamous CKD thread where everyone.....ok just me...goes mad The second legendary thread starring Andrew Green and err....*cough* *sputter* *spit*.....sparring A later thread by someone who practises choi kwang do, it's lighter than the b'fore ones and the last one in the terrible sequels |Cain|
Actually it originated in the states, and there are more schools there than in the UK. Its not particularly well known, though it is spreading across the world gradually. Other than that its mainly a striking art designed to be effective for self defense with the minimum risk of injury in training. If you've got any questions, feel free to PM any of the CKD practitioners or instructors on the board, including myself.
Yeah that's what the forum is for.....besides it [the CKD one] looks deserted and seems like a long time since we had a debate! |Cain|
