Big deal...everybody has their vices, it's not like Bruce Lee was some sort of deity or something, just a person that could kick some butt.

I don't see why this is a problem. It was the seventies. Dude.
And anyway, Bruce Lee was never 'about' health as such. The way he died from abusing his body for athletic achievment is proof enough of that. This 'revelation' actually improves my image of him and makes him appear a more rounded figure to my eyes.

I think this is correct, I'm shaky on my chemistry and haven't dabbled in any of this stuff in a long time . . . I'd have to look more up later if anyone cared.

THC creates a carboxyl bond, which is a very high energy bond and requires a high amount of energy to break it loose so that it can be assimilated by the body and produce the narcotic effect. Cooking it in oil or butter is a good way to do so because THC is fat/oil soluable. Burning it also breaks the bonds.

Hash is not necessarily made from the resin, but from any "waste" portions of the plant, including stems, leaves, etc. These "waste" portions are ground up and the THC is extracted from them, the remaining part is the hash.

I blame it on 'herofication' (I think I read that word somewhere... either that, I'm making it up... oh well). Basically, there are people we look up to, and so since they're on a pedestal, they can't do any wrong.

Christopher Columbus was a slave runner, Helen Keller was a socialist, George Washington owned slaves.

We don't hear about these things though - why? Because they're "heroes." Christopher Columbus 'discovered' America! (Nevermind that he couldnt' have 'discovered' it if there were already inhabitants...). Helen Keller's story is one of survival and greatness! George Washington was a noble statesman!
(sorry it's all USA geared, but that's what I know - I'm sure others could provide other examples).

Bruce Lee was "just" another human being, and had his faults (if you want to call it that) just like any other human being. By exposing them or learning about them, you are learning MORE about an individual, rather than perpetuating a false image.

I hope that all makes sense... :)

While I agree with most of your post, I find comparing being a socialist to owning/moving slaves very insulting. I thought the Cold War was over. Political alignment in regards to economical policy is not ground for being "evil". You do know that outside of the United States, it is NOT considered as "t3h evil", right?

Also, lots of people owned slaves at that time...however, if I recall my history (as distorted as it may be by this time) George Washington not only owned them, but impregnated a couple as well, so he had his way with his slaves too, which, as I understand it, wasn't that uncommon either.

    It's all relative...

  8. Perfect sense. It's the reply that's meant the most to me, this entire thread.

I wasn't alive enough back then to really know the ins and outs of drug popularity. I was raised into a school system that taught us from the age of 10 Drugs. Are. Bad. End of. :D Haha. I can appreciate that my opinions of drugs may be a little biased.

I think its safe to say Bruce Lee didn't do that. :p

Another thing in Lee's defense, he did always advocate breaking from dogmatic traditions and finding your own path, so it makes sense he would have atleast tried it instead of jumping on the anti-drugs bandwagon. It seems his MA philosophy was kind of a "be experimental" one, so maybe that's part of what his logic was. For anyone that needs explanation.

This is not meant to be taken as pro or anti drugs in anyway.

You can get high from eating either plant matter or hashish. Hash is made from the resin of the plant which is pure THC pretty much.

THC does not change form, you can take it any way you want. However, eating it is the least effective way (other than in hash brownies) as your stomach isnt the most effective tool to extract THC from grams of plant matter.

100% correct on the oils or alcohol. Many people also use butaine to extract THC from plant matter and make hash oil.

Its possible to OD on any substance. However, yes you would need to smoke a rediculous amount to OD.

Not 2-3 times your body weight, but still a large amount. It all depends in the form you are smoking it (bud, leaves, hash, hash oil etc). It's doubful you would be in any condition to smoke the amount that requires to od. You'd green out long before you were able to have an OD amount.

I forgot to add the good link, was thinking of other things that educating you about drug use.

This is the definative drug info guide. It will teach you about effects, experiences, legality, etc etc. Read the experiences, and you will how many people use drugs for "meditative purposes". Though explaining this to you is abit pointless considering you have never taken e. Well I asssume you havent considering you said it was used in a "crack den". ;)

I'm sure you of all people would find the irony of your statement amusing. For modern man is on drugs from cradle to grave. Your mother may have had an epidermal during childbirth to ease the pain.. guess what.. you got some of those drugs too.. and when you die.. they may give you some morphine to ease the pain of your body shutting down, making you a bit more coherent so you can tell your kids/grandkids goodbye. High Blood Pressure...?? YIPPY SKIPPY LETS EAT SOME PILLS! Oh man.. you broke your leg.. heres some vicodin to help ease the pain.

Such blanket statements are foolish. Drugs have their place.. just like pot has its place...

In Bruce Lees Mouth :D (See I stayed on topic!)

People that cry whenever anyone mentions Bruce Lee are even more annoying than Bruce Lee nut riders. Bruce Lee's name is not taboo, you can talk about him as much as you want.

alot of the old ones were cannabis users. when you understand the way of nature you realize that every green thing that grows has some value in essence, wether it be for food, medicine, or for opening the mind. cannabis is but just one of many naturally flowering plants that were and are used by peoples in all corners of the globe as a means of transcending the illusion of the world. these natural plants serve as a creative medium in understanding the way... so in essence they benefit the human soul in opening ones mind to the natural laws of nature, in relation to reflexes in martial arts, well that depends on what type of plant and how much was used. :)
