Anyone ever read the novel Battle Royale? I started reading it a week ago. I'm blown away by this book. This one of the few novels that I've really enjoyed reading. What did you people think of it.
Its that graphic manga, isn't it? I've read the first manga. Very good. Though was't really my cup-o-tea. Didn't really like the sexist stuff in it. Also, so some of the anime, nice. I like that more than the manga.
Anime? I was unaware of that. It's a movie about a bunch of school kids that kill each other off. Has some hot girls in it too. Suicide Club is another good Japanese movie dealing with schoolchildren and death.
Battle Royale is kinda getting milked. My mates have the written novel which is more detailed and everything which is so good, they spend like a good half a chapter on a character so as soon as you get to know them they get offed. (sorry to ruin it for some you folks) I'm reading the illustrated ones at the moment (manga). It is good, a bit weird though as it more or less becomes soft-core pornography, but thats what some of the message is about on how sick some people are in the world. Especially in Japan where job placement/hierarchy is so important, that upper level managers feel so Godly that he/she can do whatever they want and how that is affecting the next generation and so forth. I do want to read the novel, but i want to finish the manga first. Excellent writing. BR2 was hilarious..loved it.
Yeah, it's one of my favourites as well. Bought it 3 weeks ago and finished it twice already.(I have too much free time) Gotta say, I preferred the novel to the film, I couldn't believe how much of it they changed, but I guess that's how movies are.
Movie? Live action you mean? Hm, never heard of that. Seen some of Suicide Club though. My friend has it. Hm, kind of suprises me how popular this manga is. You know to have novels, manga, anime, and a movie on it. Interesting, huh?
