Aikido doesn't really have big circles. You're confusing methods people came up with to teach the art with what people are actually supposed to be doing.
It really depends on the school in question as to the superiority of one aikido school over one jujutsu school. There is a broad spectrum of quality in both arts, from totally ineffective square dancing to realistic, resistance-based training. Personally I prefer jujutsu over aikido as a whole. Having studied both systems very briefly I found aikido tended to fundamentally rely on theatrics/compliance more than I am comfortable with. Some jujutsu schools are guilty of the same criticism, but I feel there are probably more exceptions there. I'm actually with Hannibal on this one. Go with judo or BJJ over aikido or Japanese jujutsu because it compliments your boxing better and because the quality of most schools in those arts tends to vary a lot less.
