you can go full power when your doing the kicking drills using the pads... but make sure that your partner is holding the pads properly before you...
lets see swelling, bruises, muscle tear, 1 torn ligament in my knee and 1 that came loose and a sprained ankle...think thats about it for now...

most definately go see a doctor....the last 2 times i heard a popping sound i injured myself pretty badly ... one was a torn ligament in my knee...
if everybody is doing tournament/olympic style sparring and some guy out of nowhere started street fighting with me i'd be ****ed off too..soo...
just keep doing stretching consistantly and you should improve ... even if you dont dont worry bout it... its just a warm up and since u already...

kicking with the ball of the foot will definately give more damage than kicking with the instep. Its simple physics the ball of the foot will give...

as for myself im not a big fan of using higher stances or not chambering for pattern or basic techniques..i feel it takes the the beauty out of it...
