Ah Snoopy! The finest cartoon dog to ever be based on a bull terrier...despite him being him a beagle!
Saw Bad News at Donnington(rock festival) in approx 1984. Not known for their sense of humour the crowd pelted them with, amongst other things, bottles of "recycled" lager and cider . Highlight of the day was Ozzy"s entrance, lowered to the stage sat on a massive skull
Ahh, you're right. I could never place Snoopy as a beagle. Wonder why Schulz never made reference to the correct breed. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uwfz5mMLSDM"]Elvis Presley Blue Christmas - YouTube[/ame]
I read Schulz's gardener had a BT and was the basis for Snoopy...I can see why. I've hardly listened to anything over the past few days. Been spinning this in the car though. It'll bring tears to Sloth's beautiful pilosan (?) eyes! [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZhx8o4nvUE"]The Screamers - In A Better World (Lyrics) - YouTube[/ame] I love the title to these... Yep. It was one of those moments where pretty much everyone involved in the campaign and many people who don't like X-Factor (like me) patted themselves on the back. 'Twas awesome. Believe me, you're not missing much. ===== Early Christmas present arrived today - Arch Enemy's new album "War Eternal". Not usually all that into the extreme metal type stuff, but the album is surprisingly easy to listen to and I actually like most the songs, plus there's a few points I can actually hear what she's screaming. Which is nice.
The Bad News song reminded me of another awesome classic they did, Warriors of Genghis Khan. The thrash band...or were they apple core?..., Acid Reign, did a great cover of it. Acid Reign were the second band I saw live...the first being *mumble* Anthrax *mumble* [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPoreDpqlik"]Bad News 12 - Warriors of Genghis Khan - YouTube[/ame] [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5fX4Z-CBS4"]Warriors of Genghis Khan - Live - YouTube[/ame]

Enigma - The Cross of Changes 2nd Release. I love the Enigma sound. Robert Cray Band - Nothing But Love Saw these guys live last week, great show. One of my buddies bought a Cd for all who went, good guy, eh.
Shredded banjo, lol. As much as I like the instrument, unfortunately, the lack of a spacious resonating space and the string's intonation oddities prevent it from being a maestro's instrument of choice. I always thought this piece, played through a Danelectro, emobodied much of the desired tonalities of banjo's (and mandalins, sitars, etc.) yet didn't sacrifice resonance and the bottom end of the spectrum... Its also a very fun piece to play due to the many opportunities for one's own improvising.
