irc.topgamers.net - A place I hang out, a lot of serious coders there http://www.htmlgoodies.com - Great for a starting place to learn html, not so good now Joe Burns sold it over <<Will edit this when I get back home to my bookmarks, great tuts in there>>
have any of you guys tried using a script to detect Flash and swap the html menu for one in Flash if the flash player has been detected? Is this possible and is so what do you use to make it work, Php?
Tutorials are ok to start, but once you learn how to use photoshop your jasc or whatever a lot of the stuff you can just look at and reproduce. You also get more and more out of using filters.
Can this be done? Yes. The how gets a little tricky. You could do it client-side with Javascript or server-side with PHP, ASP etc... Each has it's advantages and disavantages. One thing you'll need to identify is the version of Flash player the have installed.
Another web designer here - using Dreamweaver & Fireworks exclusively. http://www.dreamweaversites.com/ you may even recognise one of the mods on their forum
I dunno, the mod in that forum who seems to have a hobby of hitting people with sticks has a faint resemblance |Cain|
dreamweaver and fireworks??? and this coming from a fellow who says flyes are for women??? why i'd never...
Im Dreamweaver/Notepad & Photoshop myself I love photoshop Mainly use dreamweaver for the basics, then use the html editor for the fine tuning
That works in a pinch but Interdev is better. I started when that was the only way to do webpages. I can look at source code and have a very good idea what a page looks like.
