My legs feel in danger just knowing Paul Harris will be on the same continent as me. A genuinely scary fellow.
also because he is one of the top grapplers in the world and always goes for a finish...and well people like to see that And whilst on occasion he has held the submission, a little long shall we say, on a few occasions its the refs fault not his, i was taught to keep the sub on until the ref breaks it NOT let it go when your opponent taps, indeed my second comp vitor estima was refing and had a go at me for letting a sub go after my opponent had tapped but before he had seen it refs need to be on the ball with him
Tonon made short work of Imanari, who's a notorious leg breaker. Admittedly Palhares is a fair bit bigger than Imanari.
I don't care for Palhares at all, and I'm honestly shocked that any promotion picked him up. That being said, he is undeniably talented and has a significant strength and a slight weight advantage. That combination is going to really be tough to overcome. I am pulling for Tonon by heelhook though. Is there a possibility for a draw in Polaris?
There's a difference between not letting go early, and cranking a heel hook untill the ref has to hand fight you in order to stop any more damage occurring. Do you think the eye gouging is the refs fault too?
I am definitely pulling for Tonon. I think he has a much more fluid and varied leg lock game. I think he will surprise a lot of people.
There's also a difference between doing something illegal under the rules and doing something legal but morally questionable i thought you would have known that? A better example would be do i think its the refs fault if a fighter is unconscious and another fighter is stood over him using him as a punch bag until he has to be lifted off the guy? yes the ref didn't step in in time to stop the fight The guy might be doing something I don't agree with, but its the refs job to protect the other fighter not his
Some of Palhares' behavior could fall into the categories of disregarding the official (this isn't professional wrestling you don't get a 5 count to obey), and unsportsmanlike conduct. Both of which are generally defined in the UFC rules and regulations as fouls. Although they need more specific language added. Despite this, if he wasn't doing something wrong, he wouldn't have been cut for doing it.
