Going to be competing in my first Interclub today. I am appearing in the opening bout for the club (no pressure...), assuming no last minute card changes, and have got the advantage of being on home turf. Wish me luck!
All the best. Stick and move, hands high, you've heard it all a thousand times before. Will there be a video?
I'm not sure. I will take my iPhone with me so will try and get someone to capture with that if I get a chance at least. Thanks!
No mate. Home turf, Nottingham. I got a couple of beauties, just for you. So, the event is finally over, I really enjoyed myself. I competed in a Muay Thai bout, 5 x 1.5 minute rounds, and a Boxing bout, 3 x 1 minute rounds. I think I did fairly well, though I will let you guys judge for yourselves. It's worth noting I come from a Full Contact Kickboxing background and have only been doing full Muay Thai for five weeks. Here is the video of the Muay Thai bout. Nice work there. Nice combinations, composed and your fitness level seemed to be good. Very well done.
Here's the Boxing. Not very long though and not as high impact as the Muay Thai as the other lad was only 16 years old. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTEOKLfCL8I"]Muay Thai 8 Interclub[/ame]
Very nice and well done! To add to what Simon said, you look to have pretty good balance in the clinch (all part of you being relaxed) and got some nice turns and throws in there too
Thanks, though clinch is probably my weakest area. I've only started learning to clinch properly the past five weeks so still have very much to learn regarding techniques etc. I don't feel I made the most of it when I could. Something that will likely come in time as I drill the techniques more and they become second nature. Not bad for five weeks work though.
Nice work UC. I reckon they both show your skill but I'm even more impressed by how much the boxing bout with that young lad shows your character. Props dude, as I believe the young folk say Mitch
