Does anything compare to these for cardio? From my experience, nothing has brought my fitness up quicker or more effectively than HIIT, stair climbs and sprints.
I'm not sure about sprints because I don't do them. However I've found skipping to be useful. Personally I think each person will find that something that they like and will keep bringing them back to it.
Who wants a nice sprinting article? http://www.t-nation.com/findArticle...E4519EE0DAB8486CE74AFC9.titan?article=1550yar
Thank you, although his obsession with buttocks is a little concerning. Sprinting is an EXCELLENT exercise for most MA. Another benefit is that it needs little equipment, not that much time, and not that much skill (I know it can need quite a bit, especially starting and finishing, but that's mainly for sprinters who are trying to get faster) Good article, and a good thread
Have you tried CROSSFIT? It's THE MOST demanding workout I've ever done. It builds strength, endurance and explosive power. Go to http://www.crossfit.com and try the workout of the day for a few weeks and you'll see what I mean.
It's a hell of a program. However, can you actually do 15 pullups? Nordic, I'll fixate on whoever's buttocks I like.
I find sprinting up steps is excellent. 30 or 40 steps about 10 times is a kicker. Also, walk - jog - sprint, between lamposts is good.
Nope, I can do 9 so I do mini sets of pullups like 9, 6 and 5,5,5 and 3,3,3,3,3 and when I can't do any more I do jump pullup negatives. It's not the same workout every day.It has lots of variety and also incorporates sprints from time to time.
