probably the greatest strength athlete we have ever seen, although Kaz might argue with that statement lol

as much as i think poundstone is an incredible athlete 'big Zed' is just breath taking.

from what i gather most high level strongmen are either exceptional deadlifters or pressers, he seems to be exceptional in both.

poundstone has one the arnold twice, Fortissimus once and never won the worlds, he is a great athlete but doesnt come close to Big Z (apart from Kazmir i dont think anyone does)

Big Z won the arnolds 6 times, Fortissimus once and the WSM 3 times, it should have been more but the WSM banned IFSA Strongman from competing for about 6 years
nly the arnolds and Fortissimus were really true tests of who was the strongest man as they let ALL strongman compete and he dominated one of those and came first and second in the only Fortissimus events.

Yep he holds most of the pressing records, all the deadlift ones and the squat as well i think from last years final

bump because in the space of a month he has proven himself the greatest of his generation again, winning the arnolds and setting the deadlift world record again

doing twice as many reps with the 200kg log as anyone else again proving no one can match him when it comes to static strength events

then going to the worlds strongest man which a few weeks later and regaining his title in impressive form whent eh events favour more explosive quick athletes and are less about static strength

it must be a toss up between him Louis Cyr and mark henry in terms of the strongest man of all time

bump (again) because he also became the first strongman in history to press 500 above his head, he has single handedly taken the log record from 175 to 227kg

and here he is winning the WSM 2014 at almost 40 years of age and owning the strength events
    squat

For now lol Looking at the competition around these days and how young many of them are its a bit scary. Thor bjornson and Eddie hall for example are only 26 yrs old and I'm sure there are other examples.

His legacy will always be astonishing though, so successful for so long it's ridiculous realy and with the powerlifting pedigree that's 20yrs at the pinnacle of strength.

I honestly don't think anyone will match him, 7 Arnold titles (seen by many as the real strongman world championships) 4wsm titles, 40+ strongman records, greatest log presser the world has seen, and 20years at the top in a sport known for its injury rate. I bet Eddie doesn't a decade in the sport, it chews guys up. He might very well be the greatest static strength athlete the world has seen

In terms of titles and consistency I totaly agree (hence why I put the part about his legacy) but in terms of weights shifted I'm pretty sure he will be overtaken fairly soon (next few yrs).

There is no denying the guys a total machine and what he has accomplished is phenomenal.

you are probably right, although i think we might wait a while to see his log lift record beat,
But whilst athletes might beat his individual records, i dont think a single athlete will ever match the breadth of his accomplishments, i cant think of another strongman who can combine his static and moving strength, thor might do it but his deadlift and squat need work, eddie has great static strength but doesnt move well or isnt that explosive
to win what is seen as the ultimate static max strength competition in strongman: the Arnolds, and what is seen as the ultimate endurance and explosive competition WSM multiple times (and to win both in the same year) is pretty unique
