Would You Consider Samurai Movies Martial Arts Movies?

    Well, would you? I wouldn't because most samurai movies don't consentrate on the martial arts aspect of the samurai, which I enjoy much more. I like that a lot are very character and story driven, especially Kurosawa films.

    I think if your watchin glone Wol fand Cub or Maybe some old Zatoichi movies than yes, because ht emain focus in those movies were to deleiver swordfights, however Kurosaw or the New Zatoichi movie would be no, they only have fight scenes really just to move the story alon.

    They have elements of martial arts films, and there's definitely a specific "samurai film" style of choreography, but I'd say no. The martial arts aspects are usually subsumed by the historical and dramatic aspects of most samurai films (then again, "Samurai Films" can incorporate an awful diverse lot of stuff).
