You posted two of the same terrible video. William Shatner is a weird cat. He actually didn't know that the entire cast of Star Trek considered him a tool. ROTFLMAO!!! Years later he gave an interview where he said he was genuinely shocked when he found out that a great many people thought he was lame. His singing ability... or lack thereof is terrible. He's almost like shades of Ronald Reagan if Ronnie ever became a swinging single in the ultra cheezy '70s. So bad it's good and and beyond that...way on out past kitsch... way past anything. Just full circle back to terrible. I recently was going through a friends iPod and I was shocked to discover that he actually had tons of Shatner stuff in high rotation... including the one you posted... I seriously had to consider whether or not to continue my friendship with this guy - I mean I've been through hell and highwater with this friend... we even spit roasted a few chics back in the day... so you could say we were bros. After a long talk and assurances that he would seek professional help or at least ask to borrow my handgun if he needed to do the deed... I remained friends with him.

Yes - that Shatner cover is abysmal. The original song is quite good. I really liked the lyrics - great story telling.
