Seriously... I can understand it being a sub-forum to Judo 20 years ago, but christ, Japanese Jujutsu????? WTF!?!?!?!

Why doesn't BJJ have it's own forum on this site? Even Capoeira does...

Who cares? BJJ has it's own forum.

If you have an issue with the way the site is set up or moderated, take it up via PM with a global moderator.

    I can't PM anyone yet, I didn't post 50 times.

Sorry this is in the wrong forum, but I didn't even know there was a BJJ section on this site for a long time, that's why I didn't sign up sooner.

    that's all

yeah i gotta say i agree with this. Like it was cool when bjj got a sub forum category but i figure it should have just gotten its own section. There are tons of people who do bjj on this forum now and its probably going to get more members faster then any of the other arts.

Seriously what is the problem with you people... BJJ has it's own sub forum. Stop bitchin' and moanin' and just post good stuff.

    sheesh. :bang:

not trying to make a big deal and argument here, but if what the op says is true then he would have joined sooner if he had known about the sub forum. Maybe there are more people like this and its own section would bring in more people.

But they raise a valid point. Ninjitsu has it's own forum, and it's barely even a martial art. :D

Sweet baby Jesus... as if MAP needs more BJJer's... lol

How fricken hard is it to take a look at the forums and see that BJJ is a sub forum of Jiu Jutsu?!?!

    Exactly.

    It's not.

This small detail will help weed out all the morons that are too dumb to figure out that minor detail. :D

That's because someone mislabeled the LARPing forum. :p

Why would I even look there?

Usually BJJ uses the spelling you just did, Jiu-Jitsu.

JJJ is almost always Jujutsu or Jujitsu. When I see Jujitsu I assume JJJ; I'd sooner post in the Judo Forum, and check there for BJJers

Mikey, the BJJ forum is actually pretty new (just a few months old actually).

Ok, that explains a lot, but why make it a sub-forum? why not a full forum?

I just don't think it makes sense, all the other sub-forums relate to the forum directly...

    Protest time!

    What do we want?

    Full Forum!

    When do we want it?

    Now!

    What do we want?

    More BJJ's!

    When do we want it?

    Now!

    Hooray for BJJ

    cause it's not korean.

anyway, this setup works. having bjj listed under jjj is worth it for the comedy value alone.

(i figure at some point, they'll reorganize all the style fora anyway)

slip's obnoxiousness aside, MT does have a valid point. Every friggin Korean art has its own forum, and we have ninjas, and even a separate forum for Kung Fu verus Internal Arts versus T'ai Chi! MMA has its own forum, and so does Freestyle, whatever the hell that entails. I think it is time to move BJJ to it's own forum.

freestyle, you know, like that guy in ong bak. FREESTYLE!

uhm, yeah. I thought "Freestyle" was what MMAers who don't wanna sound bandwagonish do. :p

Seriously... the most glaring example is Kung Fu versus T'ai Chi versus Internal Arts. They're all Chinese Arts, many of them are related and taught at the same school, and hell, T'ai Chi IS an Internal Art! And if Choi Kwon Do can have a "real" forum, why not BJJ? Why does Kenpo get it's own forum, it's just Karate a bit more open about its roots.

Also note, we have more posts that CKD, more threads, and we're quickly overtaking freestyle and approaching a few other forums.

    AND...

unlike the ninjers, CKDers, internalists, etc... we actually contribute to the MAP general areas instead of ghettoizing ourselves in our own little world.

    Scarlet is flashing chrome
    BJJ should stand alone
    Among arts that don't stand
    I'll tell ya man
    That pound for pound
    It's nasty on the ground
Like rolling around a pig sty
So to Saz, Anth and Wry
    And all other Global mods

Hear the words of the quorum:
BJJ needs its very own forum
