Cous Cous is the worst food imaginable. I think its pretty much the only food that 8 guys who have been backpacking in the middle of nowhere, eating dehydrated food for 2 weeks won't eat.

His other suggestions were fine though. You could always do that. You could get a crock pot, start that in the morning, then feast on pork roast and potatoes in the evening. You could even end up with leftovers, and theres millions of recipes for a crock pot.

You need to get out more. :D

Cous Cous is an integral part of Moroccan cuisine and many the cuisine of many other Middle Eastern countries. It's been around as a staple part of their diet because it's a great source of carbs and is grain based so it's healthy enough for everyday consumption.

It goes well with most meats (especially lamb) and takes literally about 2 minutes to make. Many fish (like the Salmon pictured below) goes wonderfully with Cous Cous. Important to cooking with Cous Cous is to use chicken stock or another broth type stock when making it.

LOL. Sometimes you have wake up and move past meat and potatoes. :D

For those of you that are asking... the grain in the bottom picture is Cous Cous:

on a more serious note, cous cous is a coarsely ground samolina(sp?) pasta. They are little grains, high in fiber and protein, very low in fat, here the detailed nutritional info on them http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-001-02s04ea.html

Slipthejab - I had to remove those pictures. Don't forget that this is a family forum, if you want to post those images it isn't strictly against ToS, but a link with a warning would be much more appropriate than putting the pics there for all to see. Thanks.

As far as I'm concerned - if a pic isn't suitable for the forum - neither is a link to it.
